Photos from the Relic Tour of the Arm of St. Jude
In June, the arm of St. Jude Thaddeus visited four parishes in the Archdiocese of San Francisco. Thousands came to venerate the relic of the patron of impossible causes and participate in Masses in St. Jude’s honor.
The relic visited St. Matthew Catholic Church in Redwood City (June 14), St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Novato (June 15), Church of the Visitacion in San Francisco (June 20), and St. Pius X Catholic Church in Redwood City (June 22). Each parish welcomed between 2,100 and 2,500 pilgrims.
Each pastor said that the relic had made a deep spiritual impact on the parish. “It was a special blessing for the parish to have the visit of his relic,” said Fr. Thuan Huang, pastor of Church of the Visitacion in San Francisco.
“Pilgrims were young and old, of all races and cultures, and they came from Novato, San Rafael, Santa Rosa, Sacramento, Eureka, and even Alaska,” said Fr. Felix Lim, pastor of St. Anthony Catholic Church. “They shared heartfelt stories about the personal items they brought to touch the relic case, such as a picture of a beloved daughter, a cross from a grandmother, a medal from a father, and a statue of Mary from Italy.”
