Youth Ministry
The Archdiocese of San Francisco supports youth ministry programs that foster the catechesis, moral, and spiritual formation of young people in Middle School through High School.
Our Goals
Guided by the USCCB’s document, Renewing the Vision (1997), our ministry has three goals:
To empower young people (ages 13-17) to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in our world today;
To draw young people into responsible participation in the life, mission, and work of the faith community;
To foster the personal and spiritual growth of each young person.
To accomplish these goals, we offer training, community, workshops, resources, retreats, and collaboration opportunities for Youth Ministry Leaders within the Archdiocese, as well as training, retreats, catechetical events, leadership opportunities for youth themselves.

Holy Week Eucharistic Holy Hour and Rosary for Hong Kong with Archbishop Cordileone
Cardinal Zen, 91, is the bishop emeritus of Hong Kong (2002 – 2009). He is an outspoken advocate for religious freedom and democracy. Cardinal Zen was arrested last May by Hong Kong authorities and put on trial for allegedly failing to civilly register a pro-democracy fund. He was convicted and ordered to pay a fine, which he has appealed.
Mr. Lai is a 75-year-old Catholic businessman in Hong Kong who, inspired by his Catholic faith, has peacefully advocated democracy and respect for human rights. Because he spoke the truth in the fight for freedom, Mr. Lai has been jailed by authorities since December 2020, and is awaiting his final trial this September.

At our Excell Network Monthly Breakfasts you will meet justice involved students currently receiving scholarships, and learn more about our work in restorative justice.
